Overview of CUET
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is an entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses in central universities and other participating institutions in India.
NTA has been bestowed with the responsibility of conducting CUET annually. It is India's second biggest UG entrance test (after JEE). CUET is the sole gateway for UG admission to the participating universities. Each year, the number of applicants and participating universities increases, leading to stiffer competition to secure seats in top colleges.
Eligibility :
Candidates must have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent).
Different universities may have specific subject requirements.
Updated Exam Pattern by CUET :
According to the latest announcement by the UGC, CUET 2025 exam pattern will be as follows:
>>The exam will be conducted online, in CBT mode only.
>>All the questions in the paper will be compulsory (no optional questions).
>>The duration of the exam for each subject will be 60 minutes.
>>The total number of subjects has been reduced to 37.
>>Students can choose a maximum of 5 subjects for their CUET exam.
>>Now, a student can choose any subject in CUET (UG), regardless of whether or not they have studied it in class 12.
CUET Subjects :
Section 1:
Language
50 MCQs
Covers English and other regional/foreign languages.
Focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar.
Upto 100% scholarship available for Section 1
Section 2:
Domain-Specific Subjects
50 MCQs
Students choose subjects based on their desired course and university.
Commerce: Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Applied Maths
Humanities: Pol Science, History, Psychology, Sociology, Geography
Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths
As per CUET new Updated exam pattern, Now, a student can choose any subject in CUET (UG), regardless of whether or not they have studied it in class 12.
Section 3:
General Aptitude Test
50 MCQs
Includes topics like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical & Analytical Reasoning and Numerical & Verbal Ability.
Exam Details :
Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Duration : 60 Minutes (1 hour) for each subject.
Marking : Typically +5 for correct answers and -1 for wrong answers.
